Olivia Rodrigo’s third studio album, “You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love,” is finally here, and it takes listeners through the full emotional arc of a relationship.

Released on Friday at 12 a.m., the Grammy-winning pop star’s 13-track record is divided into two sections: “Girl So in Love” and “You Seem Pretty Sad,” presenting what feels like the beginning and end of a love story.

The first section, “Girl So in Love,” captures the exhilaration of romance through tracks such as “Drop Dead,” “Stupid Song,” “Honeybee,” “U + Me = <3,” “My Way,” and “Purple.”

Across these songs, Olivia explores infatuation, devotion, and the comfort of building a life around someone, while even moments of insecurity in “Maggots for Brains” stem from longing and attachment.

In “Honeybee,” Olivia’s best friend and fellow singer-songwriter Conan Gray is credited as a background vocalist.

The mood shifts in “You Seem Pretty Sad,” marking where the relationship begins to crack. Themes of anxiety, dependence, and disappointment emerge as the 23-year-old star examines the darker side of love.

A standout in the second half is “What’s Wrong With Me,” featuring The Cure frontman Robert Smith, where they trade verses about spiraling emotions and the realization that the person bringing joy may also be the source of distress. Meanwhile, “Begged” tackles the pain of seeking reassurance, while “Less” explores letting go despite lingering love.

The album closes with “Cigarette Smoke,” a reflective breakup song that ends the project on a note of regret, acceptance, and moving forward.

You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love” arrives nearly three years after "Guts" (2023) and notably breaks her streak of four-letter album titles. The album also marks a visual departure from her past eras, "Sour" and "Guts," stepping away from the signature purple aesthetic.

In 2024, Olivia visited the Philippines for her first concert in the country.
