Heart Evangelista reveals how fashion helped her get over body insecurities

It might be hard to believe, but Heart Evangelista used to feel insecure about her body.

The Filipino style icon, who’s become a familiar face on magazine covers and Fashion Week, revealed this as she was answering questions from fans on Instagram stories.

A fan told Heart that she felt insecure about her body and that she lacked the confidence to dress like other girls.

“Me too!” Heart replied.

“But through the years, I’ve discovered to play around with what I wear. I’m 5’2 and my waist is not that small or, in short, madami ako issues but it’s all about working around your body. Being confident as well!” she added.

According to Heart, simply being kind and pleasant is another great way to get over insecurities.

“At the end of the day, if we don’t achieve our body goals, charm always works! With my line of work I’m always surrounded by beautiful people but I survived! Being kind and pleasant is always the key!” Heart wrote.

“The charm of a person is always so beautiful,” she added.

Heart Evangelista is not just a fashion icon.

She’s also an actress, artist, influencer, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and animal rights advocate known for showing positivity and kindness even when faced with haters, harsh criticism and negativity. – Margaret Claire Layug/RC, GMA News
