Two Filipino fashion designers get spotlight in ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’

Two renowned Filipino fashion designers took center stage in “The Devil Wears Prada 2!”

According to a post by the Department of Tourism, the sequel featured the masterpieces of Rafe Totengco and Monique Lhuillier.

In the film, Lucy Liu wore a strapless cocktail dress crafted from luminous Gold Lame Rose Jacquard created by Lhuillier.

Meanwhile, Totengco’s New York Azura Asymmetric Minaudiere Clutch in Violet was worn by Simone Ashley.

A Cebu-born, Los-Angeles-based fashion designer, Lhuillier is known for her bridal, ready-to-wear, and lifestyle collections. Yoona of the K-pop girl group Girls' Generation previously wore her masterpiece at the 2024 Cannes Festival.

Totengco, on the other hand, is a New York-based designer known for his bold architectural accessories.

The Devil Wears Prada 2” is now showing in Philippine cinemas nationwide.

It stars Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci, who all reprised their roles from the first film.

It follows Andy Sachs (Hathaway) who returns to a struggling Runway magazine to restore its credibility amid a PR crisis, forcing a reluctant partnership with Miranda Priestly (Streep).
