Eton Centris operations back to normal after drunken security guard episode
Business operations at integrated property complex Eton Centris are back to normal, a company official said Wednesday.
"Eton Centris is open and under normal operations," EPPI Assistant Vice President for Operations of Eton Centris Marjorie Abot said in an emailed statement.
Eton Centris is owned and operated by business magnate Lucio Tan's real estate firm Eton Properties Philippines Inc. (EPPI).
"This morning’s incident at WiPro BPO office, involving a disturbed security guard, was peacefully resolved with the guard’s surrender to the PNP (Philippine National Police)," Abot said.
Police secured a building within the property complex after a troubled security guard holed himself up inside one of its rooms.
Earlier reports noted the building was on lockdown, but the Quezon City Police District clarified that only the room where the guard was holed up in was on lockdown and not the entire complex or building.
After several minutes of negotiations, the security guard surrendered.
"Credit and thank you go out to the PNP QC, Eton Centris Operations Team, and WiPro management for their exemplary handling of the situation," Abot said. — Ted Cordero/VDS/KVD, GMA News
