Dennis Uy group, China oil firm seek LNG project extension
Tanglawan Philippine LNG Inc., the joint venture between Phoenix Petroleum Philippines Inc. and China National Offshore Oil Corp. (CNOOC), has sought to extend its permit to proceed with the liquefied natural gas (LNG) project in Batangas.
In a regulatory filing submitted by Phoenix Petroleum legal manager Rosalio II Roque on Wednesday, Dennis Uy-led oil company said Tanglawan has “already filed for an extension of the Notice To Proceed last June 20, 2019, and along with it the status updates of the proposed project were also submitted.”
The DOE-Centralized Review and Evaluation Committee (CREC) is scheduling an operational meeting with Tanglawan to ask them parties what is the status of their project and why they should be given an extension, Oil Industry Management Bureau Director Rino Abad said.
“Under the rules, they can be given another six months or force majeure depende kung ano ang isa-cite nilang grounds,” Abad told GMA News Online. —VDS, GMA News
