Another big fuel price rollback set for Tuesday, April 21, 2026

Motorists will enjoy a huge rollback in fuel prices this Tuesday, April 21, 2026, with the price of diesel set to drop by as much as P24 per liter.

In an advisory, Shell Pilipinas Corp. said that it will slash the prices per liter of diesel by P24.94, and of gasoline by P3.41. The price of kerosene will also be reduced by P2.00 per liter.

The price change will be effective starting 6 a.m. on Tuesday.

“For example, if it’s P136.70 last week, then tomorrow it should be mga P111 na siya. So may P24.94, halos P25, na bawas ang diesel,” Energy Secretary Sharon Garin said in a virtual press briefing.

(For example, if the price of diesel was P136.70 per liter last week, then tomorrow it should be around P111 per liter. So there’s P24.94, almost P25, decrease in the price per liter of diesel.)

Garin also said that the rollback is now prescribed by the government, as announced by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

She said that oil companies are now mandated to comply with the minimum and maximum amounts that the government would set regarding the adjustments in the price of petroleum products amid the state of national energy emergency.

Such a policy was triggered after Marcos signed Executive Order No. 110, Garin explained.

The Department of Energy (DOE) last week indicated that another round of pump price rollbacks could occur this week.

The anticipated big-time rollback in pump prices was attributed to the “further unwinding of the war premium on prices because of the easing of tensions in the Middle East… as so far, the ceasefire is holding,” according to the industry source.

On Sunday, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos urged oil companies to implement the rollback for both diesel and gasoline prices in full and without delay, amid an expected major cut in pump prices next week.

In a video message, Marcos said diesel price is expected to go down by P24.94 per liter, gasoline by P3.41, and kerosene by P2.00. —AOL, GMA News
