DOLE issues pay guideline for Nov. 16-18, 2026 amid 49th ASEAN Summit

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has set the pay guidelines for work rendered on November 16 to 18, 2026, which have been declared as special non-working days in the National Capital Region in connection with the country's hosting of the 49th ASEAN Summit.

DOLE Secretary Francis Tolentino signed Labor Advisory No. 16, Series of 2026 on Monday, September 28.

Under the labor rules, employees who work on the said dates will be paid an additional 30% of the basic wage for the first eight hours of work.

A "no work, no pay" principle will be applied for those who do not work on the special days, unless there is a favorable company policy, practice, or collective bargaining agreement granting payment on a special day.

Overtime work on the mentioned dates is compensated with an additional 30% of the hourly rate for the day.

If the ASEAN summit and related summits in November fall on an employee’s rest day, employees who work are entitled to an additional 50% of their basic wage for the first eight hours.

DOLE also stated that overtime work under the same conditions is compensated with an additional 30% of the hourly rate for the day. —AOL, GMA News
