The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has extended to October 29, 2026 the deadline for filing quarterly value-added tax (VAT) and percentage tax returns and paying the corresponding taxes due to the unavailability of its electronic filing and payment system (eFPS).

In a press release on Monday, the BIR said the extension covers the October 26 deadline for BIR Form No. 2550Q, or the Quarterly VAT Return, and BIR Form No. 2551Q, or the Quarterly Percentage Tax Return, including the submission of required attachments.

The extension was provided under Revenue Memorandum Circular No. 115-2026, signed by BIR Commissioner Charlito Martin R. Mendoza.

The BIR said no penalties would be imposed on taxpayers who file their returns and pay the corresponding taxes within the extended deadline of October 29. —LDF, GMA News
