BSP: Treasury operations suspended on Tuesday, April 23, 2019

There will be no treasury operations on Tuesday, following the order of President Rodrigo Duterte to cancel work in Metro Manila government offices, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) announced.

"Treasury operations will be closed," the central bank said in an advisory released to reporters Tuesday morning.

Treasury operations include the trading and settlement of the overnight deposit facility (ODF), the overnight lending facility (OLF), the overnight reverse repurchase facility (RRP), and the US dollar-Philippine peso trading.

"It will be a non-reserve day in so far as computing for the reserve position of 23 April 2019," said the BSP.

"All reports due may be submitted on 24 April 2019 without penalty," it added.

Duterte earlier ordered the cancellation of work in Metro Manila government offices, to assess the damage to infrastructure, if any, by the 6.1-magnitude earthquake that jolted Luzon on Monday.

Still, the BSP said clearing and settlement, as well as cash service operations, will continue on Tuesday.
