LPG prices down for second straight month in May

Households will pay less for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in May as firms on Tuesday announced their second straight month of rollbacks for the cooking fuel.

In an advisory, Petron Corp. said it would cut LPG prices by P1.15 per kilo, or P12.65  for every 11-kilogram cylinder tank, effective 12:01 a.m. on Wednesday, May 1, 2024.

"This reflects the international contract price of LPG for the month of May," the advisory read.

Latest data available from the Department of Energy (DOE) show that prices of an 11-kilogram cylinder in Metro Manila ranged from P830.00 to P1,068.00 for the month of April.

Earlier this month, Petron also announced a P1-rollback per kilo of LPG following a price hike imposed last March. — VDV, GMA Integrated News
