CCTV footage of alleged kidnapping in Pasay City released

A CCTV footage showing one of the nine allegedly abducted youths in Pasay City has been released by the police, according to a report of Jonathan Andal on GMA News’ Unang Balita on Wednesday.

The Pasay City Police has been reviewing CCTV footage as part of the investigation on the reported missing individuals in the city.

Recorded past 6:00 p.m. on Friday, the footage showed a van parked on Villaruel Street where four men alighted and went into a corner.

One of them was smoking while seemingly waiting for someone.

A few minutes later, two men wearing caps came holding 22-year old Sebastian Montoya on his shoulders and put him inside the vehicle. The van left and veered toward Leveriza Street.

Sebastian is one of the nine missing people, whose ages range from 16 to 22 years old.

His family said the police told them that authorities have identified the plate number of the van. They found out that the plate number was on a Toyota Vios.

“'Nay, pwede ring pulis yan, nakasibilyan. Pwede rin yang PDEA, nakasibilyan,' sabi doon sa police sa headquarters. E ‘di ngayon nag-iisip ako, bakit nila ‘yon gagawin sa pamangkin ko?” Sebastian’s aunt Emilita Gonzales said.

According to her, police officers came to their house before and asked Sebastian to surrender as part of the administration’s drug war campaign.

Sebastian has denied his involvement in illegal drugs, she said.

“Nakikiusap naman ako sa inyo kung sino man nakakakuha sa pamangkin ko, parang awa nyo na! Ibalik nyo na lang! Ibalik nyo! Kung may kasalanan, ikulong nyo. Hindi yung kukunin nyo na lang,” she said.

“Kung anong ginawa nyo sa kanya kung pinatay nyo, binugbog nyo, sabihin nyo lang magpasabi kayo sa barangay namin para kami na kukuha mismo,” she added.

On Tuesday, the Pasay City Police has been reviewing CCTV footage as part of the investigation on the reported missing youths in the city.

Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano on Monday ordered the police to look into reports of abductions in the city that are circulating around social media.

Rumors are spreading in social media that some youths have been abducted within the vicinity of Pasay Rotonda.

Pasay Police chief Colonel Bernard Yang encouraged the families of the missing persons to officially report these incidents to the police.

According to Yang, out of the nine rumored missing, five of their families have officially reported their disappearance to the police.
