Manila's COVID-19 cases reach 50; number of deaths increases to 6


The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases went up to 50 on Saturday in Manila, and those who died totaled six, data from the Manila Health Department showed.

Meanwhile, there were 192 persons under investigation as of 5 p.m. on Saturday.

The number of recoveries stood unchanged at two.

 

On Friday, the total COVID-19 cases in Manila numbered 44, while the death toll was at four. 

Local authorities are already conducting contact tracing to identify the persons who may have had contact with the COVID-19 cases, according to a report on Super Radyo dzBB by Jhomer Apresto on Sunday.

Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso reminded residents to take the threat from COVID-19 seriously and to stay home.

On Saturday at 4 p.m., the Department of Health (DOH) said the country’s total COVID-cases reached 1,075 cases as more testing is being done. 

The death toll is at 68 while total recoveries numbered 35.

As of Saturday, the DOH has tested a total of 2,686 individuals. Of these, 920 have tested negative and 667 have pending results.
