The Quezon City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office has raised the yellow alert on Saturday after Metro Manila was first placed under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 at 8 a.m.

Mayor Joy Belmonte met with government agencies on Saturday to discuss preparations for the typhoon.

Rolly is expected to pass very close to Catanduanes, the Calaguas Islands, and very close to mainland Camarines Provinces on Sunday morning, and over Polillo Islands and mainland Quezon on Sunday afternoon.

Starting Sunday early morning, PAGASA said Metro Manila, Bicol Region, CALABARZON, Central Luzon, Marinduque, and the northern portions of Occidental Mindoro and Oriental Mindoro will experience heavy to intense rains.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said Rolly is expected to bring extensive damage along its path. —KG, GMA News
