BJMP to fast-track admin probe on Taguig deputy warden amid rape charges

The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) on Wednesday said it will fast track its investigation on possible administrative liabilities of a Taguig City Jail deputy warden accused of sexually abusing one of his tenants in Leveriza, Pasay City.

BJMP chief Jail Director Allan Iral made the statement after the National Bureau of Investigation arrested Jail Senior Inspector Ramon Carolino, who allegedly raped his tenant after a drinking session on the midnight of January 16.

"The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology reaffirms its strong position against any form of abuses on women and does not condone nor tolerate such acts especially if committed by its members," the BJMP said in a statement.

"Any misdemeanors and forms of abuses on women has no place in a civilized society," the BJMP added.

The victim said the suspect, who is her landlord, raped her in the room she was renting in Pasay.

NBI division chief Atty. Ross Galicia said the Prosecutor’s Office of Pasay City has sustained the findings of the NBI.—AOL, GMA News
