Mandaluyong Mayor Abalos gets Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine shot


Mandaluyong Mayor Menchie Abalos on Monday received her first dose of CoronaVac, China firm Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine, days after the government allowed inoculation of local chief executives in high-risk cities and towns. 

"Yes this afternoon lang. Sinovac (vaccine)," Abalos told GMA News Online in a text message, adding that she was vaccinated at Pedro P. Cruz Elementary School in the city.

Joining Abalos in the local immunization program were frontline workers, adults  with comorbidities, and senior citizens.

On Sunday, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno also received his shot of the Sinovac vaccine.

As of Monday, the city logged a total of 9,726 confirmed COVID-19 cases with 247 deaths; 8,111 recoveries; and 1,368 active cases.—AOL, GMA News
