PCOO’s Mocha Uson says she was also a victim of fake news

Communications Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson on Wednesday called out some media organizations for supposedly publishing fake news against her.

During the Senate public information committee hearing on fake news, Uson said: “Biktima rin ako ng fake news. Ako rin ay na-bash online.”

Uson first recalled a report published by ABS-CBN News that she was appointed as a consultant at the Bureau of Customs (BOC).

“Kadalasan ng nagpapakalat ng fake news ay ilang mainstream media,” Uson said.

Uson, a staunch supporter of President Rodrigo Duterte, also slammed anew GMA News for reporting that she took a selfie inside a mosque while in Marawi City.

The report said Zia Alonto Adiong, who represents Lanao del Sur's first district in the ARMM Regional Assembly, criticized Uson for allegedly taking a selfie inside a mosque with her boots on when Duterte visited the Grand Islamic Mosque in war-torn Marawi City last September.

"That's where Usec. (sic) Uson was taking selfie with her boots on," Adiong said.

Aside from wearing boots, Uson was also reportedly not wearing a hijab.

Uson also said that she was bashed over a blog post on a Facebook page, which accused her of receiving payments from former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. —KG, GMA News
