Lacson laughs off claim he already got COVID-19 immunization

Senator Panfilo Lacson on Tuesday refused to give any categorical answer whether it was true that he already got injected with a COVID-19 vaccine.

"Tawa na lang ang isasagot ko sa inyo," Lacson said in a radio interview while laughing.

The program hosts tried to ask him where he was able to access the supposed COVID-19 vaccine but he answered: "Kung totoo nga. Eh hindi ko naman din inaamin."

Lacson has yet to respond to the request of GMA News Online for a categorical answer but during the weekend he already hinted that it might only be a joke.

It was Senate President Vicente Sotto III who first mentioned that Lacson and House Majority Leader Martin Romualdez received immunization shots against the novel disease.

He said he first heard about this on September 16, straight from the mouth of Romualdez, during a meeting with President Rodrigo Duterte in Malacanang.

Romualdez, meanwhile, has yet to make any statements regarding this matter.

The Department of Health reiterated that no COVID-19 vaccine has been approved yet in the country.

It warned manufacturers, suppliers, and distributors that there are laws against distribution of products not registered with the Food and Drug Administration.—LDF, GMA News
