Additional 2.2 million Pfizer vaccine doses to arrive on June 11

The additional 2.2 million doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine will arrive in the Philippines on June 11, vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. said Tuesday.

“At ngayon ano po June 11 ay ia-announce ko na po na ‘yung 2.2 million ay darating po dito ngayon sa ating bansa,” Galvez said in a Palace briefing.

(I’m announcing that the 2.2 million doses will arrive in the country on June 11.)

“At ito po ay… diretso na po sa mga bayan natin sa Cebu, sa Davao, atsaka dito sa Metro Manila,” he added.

(This will head straight to Cebu, Davao, and Metro Manila.)

Galvez earlier said that the doses will arrive before the end of May.

He said the Philippines now has a steady supply of vaccines from the COVAX facility with more than two million doses monthly.

“‘Yung vaccine supply natin will be stabilized on the month of July, lalo na ‘yung AstraZeneca, Moderna, Sinovac, atsaka Sputnik,” he said.

(Our vaccine supply will be stabilized in the month of July, especially the AstraZeneca, Moderna, Sinovac, and Sputnik vaccines.)

Malacañang on Monday said that at least 3.4 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines are expected to be delivered in the Philippines in June.

As of May 30, the Philippines has fully vaccinated more than 1.2 million individuals against COVID-19.

The Philippines has reported 1,230,301 confirmed cases, of which 1,155,045 have recovered and 20,966 have died. —KG, GMA News
