Marcos Jr.'s party adopts Sara Duterte as VP bet in Eleksyon 2022

The Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) on Saturday adopted Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte as its vice presidential bet in Eleksyon 2022.

PFP is the party of presidential aspirant and former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

The party issued the resolution minutes after Sara, through her authorized representative, filed her certificate of candidacy for vice president under Lakas-CMD.

Mayor Sara, however, has yet to issue a statement if she is accepting PFP’s endorsement as Marcos Jr.’s running mate.

Meanwhile, Lakas-CMD chairman Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. said, “I am also confirming that the Party is in the process of formalizing the adoption of a standard-bearer who Inday Sara will be running with as her President.”

“Abangan po natin ang Dream-Tandem na aakay sa bansa tungo sa hinahangad nating pagbangon mula sa pandemya at tuloy-tuloy na progreso,” Revilla said.

(Let us await the Dream-Tandem that will usher our country to our desired recovery from the pandemic and continuous progress.)

The Davao City mayor was named by Lyle Uy of Lakas-CMD on Saturday as his substitute when he withdrew his COC for the vice president post.

Sara's filing of her COC for vice president came two days after she joined Lakas-CMD.

This came after Hugpong Ng Pagbabago secretary general Anthony Del Rosario announced that Mayor Sara has resigned from the regional party.

Under the Comelec's calendar for Eleksyon 2022, substitution for a candidate in a national or local post can be filed from the end of the COC filing period until November 15, 2021. —KG, GMA News
