San Fernando, Cebu Councilor shot dead in Zamboanga del Sur

A councilor from the town of San Fernando in Cebu province was shot dead in Zamboanga del Sur, according to a report on Saksi.

A motorcycle-riding suspect shot Alfonso Donaire, who was on foot and on his way to his house in Ramon Magsaysay town.

Donaire is the fourth San Fernando town official who was killed since January.

He was arrested in 2017 in cases related with illegal drugs and firearms.

In January, Barangay Chairman Ricardo Reluya, the husband of incumbent San Fernando, Cebu Mayor Lakambini Reluya, was also killed in an ambush. — Dona Magsino/BAP, GMA News
