No-aircon policy implemented in Cebu Provincial Capitol amid COVID-19

As a precautionary measure against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), the Provincial Capitol of Cebu has implemented a no air-condition policy.

The decision was based on information from the World Health Organization that said the virus cannot live past a temperature of 10°C, according to a Balitanghali report on Tuesday.

As it was built in 1938, the capitol was designed with large windows and a high ceiling that brought good air ventilation.

However, some offices within the establishment are still allowed to use airconditioners should it be needed, as long as it is limited to four hours, according to the report.

Persons under investigation for possible COVID-19 infection in the Philippines have climbed to 597 as of Friday last week.

Meanwhile, the death toll in mainland China due to the virus has climbed to 2,663 with more than 77,000 confirmed cases. —Joahna Lei Casilao/KBK, GMA News
