Bicol Region confirms 4th COVID-19 case


The Bicol Region on Saturday reported its fourth coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) case.

According to the Department of Health Center for Health Development-Bicol (DOH CHD-Bicol), the patient is a 60-year-old female from Albay.

She began to develop cough symptoms on March 3. The patient arrived from Manila on March 10 and consulted the Bicol Regional Training and Teaching Hospital (BRTTH) on March 21.

According to a statement, the Regional and Provincial Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit is coordinating with the local government unit and hospital for contact tracing purposes.

At present, the Bicol Region had 66 persons under investigation, 49 of whom had been discharged. There were also 113,909 persons under monitoring in the region.

There were 1,075 COVID-19 cases in the country, 68 fatalities, and 35 recoveries. — DVM, GMA News
