Dumaguete, Lubang at critical risk for COVID-19 —OCTA

Dumaguete and Lubang in Occidental Mindoro are now classified at critical risk for COVID-19, the OCTA Research group said Thursday.

In its latest report, OCTA said the COVID-19 reproduction number in Lubang remained at 3.61.

The  seven-day average in the area increased to 58 cases, equivalent to an average daily attack rate (ADAR) of 290 per 100,000 individuals.

This is higher than the 170 ADAR recorded in the municipality on Monday.

“Lubang is considered critical risk using indicators based on covidactnow.org. This may not reflect the alert level rating used by the DOH and the IATF,” OCTA said.

Meanwhile, Dumaguete recorded an ADAR of 26.47 per 100,000.

“Zamboanga City, La Trinidad, and San Mateo (Isabela) are at high risk but the first two are on a downward trend,” OCTA said.

In a disclaimer, the OCTA said the report does not necessarily reflect the official position of the Department of Health, the Inter-Agency Task Force, and local government units.

The Philippines has logged a total of 2,768,849 cases, of which 50,152 remain active while 42,348 have succumbed to the illness.—LDF, GMA News
