A total of 14 Filipinos from Dubai have returned to the Philippines amid the ongoing Middle East conflict, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) said Monday.

In a social media post, the DMW said the returnees arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 at around 10 p.m. on Sunday under the government’s repatriation program.

They were provided with financial and medical assistance, food, transportation, and temporary shelter.

According to the DMW, one of the returnees said they chose to go home due to the impact of the ongoing conflict.

The agency added that a total of 1,341 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and 413 of their family members have returned to the Philippines since the situation in the Middle East escalated.

On Sunday, the DMW also reported that 123 Filipinos from the United Arab Emirates arrived in two batches on Saturday.

They received psychosocial support from the Department of Health and were offered business and financial assistance seminars conducted by the Department of Trade and Industry and the Department of Labor and Employment.

Meanwhile, another batch of 22 OFWs from Israel arrived in Manila on Saturday via a commercial flight, including 18 caregivers and four hotel workers.—MCG, GMA News
