OFW starts online food business in Bahrain after losing job at restaurant

An Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) has started an online food business after losing his job in Bahrain.

According to JP Soriano's report on "24 Oras," Mark Balgoma worked for five years as a cook at an international restaurant but the business closed down due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Instead of going home, however, Mark and a few of his OFW friends decided to start over in Bahrain. He urged his friend Marjo to make some Pinoy food.

They later added other items to their menu, such as chicken inasal, lechon manok, lechon pork belly, beef kare-kare, and desserts. Mark goes out on a bicycle to deliver the orders.

Soon enough, they managed to double their starting capital of P2,000. However, business slowed down a little when more OFWs lost their jobs.

They coped by changing up their menu every day, and now even foreigners are eager to have a taste of their Pinoy food.

—MGP, GMA News
