Google extends +1 button to images
Recommending a photo or drawing to friends is now easier after search giant Google extended its +1 button to images. Software engineer Xiaorui Gan said the +1 button, which debuted last March, had helped people make recommendations from the search results page. "By hovering over one of the images, you can quickly recommend (a) photo to your friends by clicking the +1 button," Gan said in a blog post. Once a user's friends start searching too, he or she will be able to quickly spot images they recommended via annotations on the images they’ve +1’d on one's search results page. But one will need to create a Google+ profile before one can start +1’ing images, Gan said. "Your image +1’s will appear in the +1 tab of your profile, where you can see all of your recommendations in one place and delete those you no longer feel strongly about. To see +1’s on the image results page you’ll need to be logged into your Google Account," Gan said. — TJD, GMA News
