Magnitude 5.0 earthquake strikes off Jomalig, Quezon

A magnitude 5.0 earthquake jolted Jomalig, Quezon late Wednesday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) said.
PHIVOLCS earlier reported the quake that occurred at 10:11 p.m. and was tectonic in origin at magnitude 5.6 with located 93 kilometers northeast of Jomalig, Quezon, at a depth of 10 kilometers, PHIVOLCS said.
The quake occurred at a depth of 17 kilometers, that was felt in the following areas:
- Intensity III - Quezon City; Jomalig, Quezon; Capalonga, and Jose Panganiban, Camarines Norte
- Intensity II - Malabon City; Pasig City; Guinayangan, Quezon; Basud, Labo, Mercedes, and Paracale, Camarines Norte
- Intensity I - Mandaluyong City; Taguig City
PHIVOLCS said the earthquake was expected to generate aftershocks, but no damage was anticipated from the tremor. —LDF/BAP, GMA News
