Report: Roles to be reversed in next Angry Birds game?
For a long time, players of the popular Angry Birds series of game have played the role of birds getting back at the hated green pigs for taking their eggs. But the next version of the game may have the players playing the role of the pigs and protecting the eggs they had stolen, a tech site has reported. Pocket-lint.com said the game may be available sometime before Christmas, with the birds still catapulting themselves at the pigs, who are hiding in wooden and stone structures. "Although it is not certain, from what we've seen, we would hazard a guess that it looks like the idea will be to protect the eggs against incoming birds by firing pigs at them," Pocket-lint.com said. No other details about the intriguing new game were immediately made available, however. "Could a Pigs version featuring King Pig and others have the same success?" Pocket-lint.com asked. The Angry Birds have remained a hit with gamers since they debuted in 2009, spawning spinoff movies and an upcoming animated TV show due to premiere in autumn. Rovio, the developer of the hit game, has earned a windfall not just from various versions of the games, but also from related merchandise, ranging from knick-knacks to cookbooks. — LBG, GMA News
