Firefox update promises secure search, web game app support

Secure search - at least on Google - and better support for web game apps highlight the changes in the newest version of Mozilla's Firefox browser.   In a blog post, Mozilla said the secure search protects users from "prying eyes" especially if one accesses the Internet using public or shared WiFi.   "Google is currently the only search engine that allows Firefox to make your searches private, but we look forward to supporting additional search engines with this feature in the future," it said.   It also said Firefox - now at version 14 - makes it easier to see a website’s verified identity by changing the way icon is displayed to the left of the URL.   On the other hand, Firefox also promises goodies for developers, especially of Web-based apps.   Mozilla said Firefox now has support for Pointer Lock API to allow apps, including first-person games, to better control the mouse.   For Apple's Mac OS X platform, Firefox also supports native fullscreen mode on OS X Lion 10.7 "for a better experience with videos and Web games like Mozilla’s BrowserQuest." — ELR, GMA News
