Google to disable background images Nov. 16
Search giant Google is taking away Background Images, a feature that allows logged-in users to customize their otherwise minimalist Google search page, as part of the streamlining of its Search page.
Google users who presently avail of the feature were advised the Background Images will be going away on November 16.
"As we build a more streamlined Google Search page for everyone, we’ll no longer be able to support customization with background images," it said (www.google.com).
By Nov. 16, it said users who place a photo or image of their choice on the Google home page "will no longer be able to see your background pictures."
Google offered to let users click on a "Remove" button to stop using a background image immediately.
On the other hand, it said the user's background image and Picasa web albums will still be available to the user. — TJD, GMA News
