Microsoft races to fix XBox Live login problems
Login woes hounded many users of Microsoft's Xbox Live service over the weekend, even as Microsoft assured them it is working to fix the problem.
In a post on its status page, Microsoft's Xbox support team said this prevented many users from sending or receiving messages and seeing friends' statuses.
The glitch also prevented users from sending game and party invites, and accepting friend requests on Xbox LIVE, it added.
"We're on top of it, don't you fret!" it said, adding it had aimed to fix the problem in 30 minutes.
According to Microsoft, the problem may cause difficulties with the following services:
- Sending text or voice messages to other Xbox LIVE members
- Sending or receiving Beacon notifications
- Receiving game invitations or notifications
- Viewing messages
It also affected the Xbox 360 Console and Xbox.com platforms, it added.
But a separate article on The Next Web said that after 30 minutes, Microsoft was "still hard at work fixing the issue members are having signing in to Xbox LIVE." — TJD, GMA News
