5th Cell brings DC Universe to life in 'Scribblenauts Unmasked'

Video game developer 5th Cell has raised the bar even higher in their Scribblenauts franchise.

They've already had success with four games and immense popularity thanks to a popular puzzle-based gameplay. But this time they're taking it up a notch by welcoming the popular characters of DC Comics into the fold and opening a multiverse of epic proportions.
We're talking about “Scribblenauts Unmasked: A DC Comics Adventure.”

Like the title implies, players are going to see their favorite heroes and villains from the DC Universe, as well as familiar gameplay established in the previous Scribblenauts games.

Players take on the role of a young boy named Maxwell, and the objective is to solve puzzles by using a magical notepad to manifest objects that help with the solution. This time, characters and stages from the DC Universe appear and Maxwell will interact with notable personalities during his adventures like Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman.

"Scribblenauts Unmasked" will contain at least 2000 different heroes and villains. These includes characters not normally seen in any previous DC video game or show outside of the comic books themselves. There will also be interpretations of their favorite characters, such as alternate reality versions of Superman and the various costumes of Batman.

Scribblenaut users may also modify their character and come out with interesting combinations in the process.

The official press release for the game, via Coming Soon, also detailed that the game will also take players through locales like “Gotham City, Metropolis, Atlantis  and other iconic locales from the DC Comics universe.”

A new Super Hero Creator tool available on Wii U and PC also elevates the game's creativity by giving players the power to produce their own hero or villain using any item from the DC Comics universe. They may then set properties for how their character behaves by changing its appearance and powers.
