Windows users to get Evernote 5 beta
Users of computers running Microsoft's Windows operating system will now get a taste of notetaking software suite Evernote's latest updated app.
In a blog post, Evernote's Andrew Sinkov said Evernote 5 for Windows Desktop Beta has been redesigned to be "more flexible, and more beautiful than ever."
"There are over a hundred improvements and enhancements throughout the app. We’ve updated the interface to not only look more modern, but also let you access the things you want more easily. We’ve added new search and discovery functions to intelligently help you find what you’re looking for, and sometimes surface relevant information before you even think to look," Sinkov said.
But he reiterated the latest app is still a beta, one of several the company will be releasing.
As the update is still a beta, he said early adopters may "experience various issues and possibly even data loss."
He added some features like Reminders are "yet to be implemented" but will be "coming soon."
A separate article on tech site The Next Web said Evernote 5 beta for Windows has "many similarities with Evernote 5 for Mac."
It noted Evernote 5 launched on Mac back in November 2012, with the Windows counterpart being left behind.
"As always with unfinished software, only download it if you’re comfortable knowing you may run into some major bugs," it said. — TJD, GMA News
