Remastered Sonic the Hedgehog 2 rolls out for Android, iOS

Fans of Sonic the Hedgehog could have an early Christmas gift if they have an iPhone, iPad or Android mobile device: Sega has released the remastered Sonic the Hedgehog 2 with a "lost" stage.

The Next Web reported the remastered version includes Hidden Palace Zone, a lost stage that never made it into the original release.

"Originally released for the SEGA Genesis/Mega Drive, players take control of Sonic, Tails or Knuckles (who used to be unlocked by plugging Sonic & Knuckles into the game cartridge) as they fly through numerous corkscrews, springboards and ring-stealing badniks," it said.

The game also features widescreen graphics and a smooth 60 frames per second gameplay.

It also has a new Boss Attack mode, where players need to defeat Dr Robotnik’s robots one after the other.

The game sells for $2.99 on iOS and Android, but is free for those with the previous iOS or Android port, the report said. — TJD, GMA News
