Meet the ioPhone5, a budget smartphone from Japanese company IOSYS that could beat the original iPhone 5c in price but not much else.

The ioPhone5 runds on Android 4.2 and has a memory of 512MB and a storage of 4 GB, and has a 2-megapixel camera at the rear and a 0.3-megapixel one at the front.

It has a 480x854 display, supports WiFi and Bluetooth, and uses a 5-pin microUSB, and can support a dual SIM configuration.

The price? About Y15,490 or US$150.

By comparison, the iPhone 5c runs iOS 7, and has a display of 640x1136, 1GB RAM and 16 or 32 GB in storage.

However, while the iPhone 5c's price starts at $99, these are subsidized by US network carriers. An unlocked version could set buyers back $549.

Meanwhile, a separate report on CNET said the dimensions of the two phones "are almost identical." — KDM, GMA News
