Reply with voice: Motorola adds hands-free texting feature to app

Motorists are getting a New Year treat from Motorola – a personal text messaging assistant that can let them respond to SMS messages while they are driving.

Product manager Punit Soni said the Motorola Assist is part of the enhanced Motorola Contextual Services in the mobile app.

"Love getting text messages read aloud to you while driving? Now you can reply back—completely hands-free using just your voice with Motorola Assist," Soni said.

Soni also said the enhanced Motorola Contextual Services now has improved activity detection in Assist and optimizes Touchless Control.

"This latest update helps make drive mode detection faster and more accurate using Bluetooth for Assist," Soni said.

Other features include zapping photos and videos, with Droid Zap using the phone’s GPS/WiFi functionality to send photos and videos with a simple gesture.

It has support for KitKat. It is vailable on DROID Ultra, DROID MAXX, and DROID Mini.

Also, Soni said KitKat continues to roll out at a fast pace, with KitKat 4.4.2 rolled out to carriers and regions in Europe.

Motorola also released the Kernel Sources for Android, KitKat 4.4.2 on Moto G. — KDM, GMA News
