Blackberry 10 update gets group messaging, improved lock screen

A group messaging function along with an improved lock screen highlight the goodies bundled in an update for the BlackBerry 10 operating system.

 

BlackBerry version 10.2.1 will be delivered to users of all devices running the BlackBerry 10 OS, tech site The Verge reported.

 

The Verge said the lock screen now has a new picture passcode system and actionable notifications.

 

Other upgrades include:

 

- new incoming call screen

- improved management of the BlackBerry notifications hub

- support for group messages over email or SMS.

 

Also, the update has improved battery reporting and an offline reading mode in the web browser.

 

"The update also enables the FM radio function in the BlackBerry Q5, Q10, and Z30 smartphones," The Verge said. — ELR, GMA News
