Barry Burton returns as a playable character for Resident Evil Revelations 2; new details and release date announced


 
 
One of the original survivors from the first Resident Evil game will be making his grand return to the franchise… And this time, players can now control his actions in an adventure that sees a man on a mission to rescue his own daughter!
 
Shown in the latest trailer to their next upcoming installment in their long running Survival Horror franchise, Capcom had revealed that S.T.A.R.S Alpha Team member and Mansion Incident survivor Barry Burton is appearing in Resident Evil Revealtions 2, and has been officially confirmed as a playable character in the game! After being absent for more the 15 years and last appearing officially in the ending of 1999’s Resident Evil 3: Nemesis to save Jill Valentine from Raccoon City’s destruction, the weapon’s expert of the Special Tactics and Rescue Service went into hiding with his family while secretly helping his friends and teammates to fight Umbrella and any other Bio-Terrorism organization that threatens the world.
 
Now for the very first time ever in the series, Barry Burton will star in own unique adventure in Resident Evil Revelations 2, which will also feature his own daughter Moira and Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil: Code Veronica star Claire Redfield as playable characters. Barry heads into the same island prison facility that Claire and Moira have been taken at to rescue them, while both girls also strive to find a way out of the nightmare they are in. Additionally, a new character named Natalia Korda will be introduced. She’s a young girl with the ability to sense enemies and hidden items, essentially making her the new unique character of this installment in the zombie/ monster horror action adventure series.
 
Set for release next year, Resident Evil Revelations 2 will be split into 4 episodes that will be released between February and March 2015. Episode 1 and 2 comes out on February 18 and 24, while Episode 3 and 4 hit on March 3 and 11. The game will be available on Playstation Network, Xbox Live, and Steam, and can also be purchased as a whole season with bonus content included. A retail edition has also been announced, which will hit PS4, PS3, Xbox One,  Xbox 360, and PC during the middle of March next year. — TJD, GMA News
