Google bids farewell to 2014 with trending doodle

Google on Wednesday bid farewell to 2014 with an animated doodle celebrating the year's top trending topics.

Visitors to Google's home page (www.google.com) were greeted with a "2014" being doused with ice water and kicking a football.

But when they click on the doodle, they are no longer taken to a Search Results page for New Year or 2015, but to the top trending topics in the Philippines for the year.
