Google fixes Lollipop memory leak

Google has fixed a memory leak that has affected users of devices running Android 5.0 (Lollipop), an enthusiast site reported.

AndroidPolice.com said the memory leak had hounded users, with the device's memory unable to clear and leading to random crashes.

"Needless to say - it was a deeply frustrating issue. Most persons affected seemed to either own Nexus 5s or Nexus 7s, though other devices may have fallen victim to it as well," it said.

The report said this particularly affected memory-intensive apps running in the background, like Play Music.

AndroidPolice said the bug ranked 34th all-time in the Android issue tracker and was the "most-starred unresolved issue" in the tracker. — Joel Locsin/JDS, GMA News
