Google Maps now allows you to share directions on mobile

Users of Google's Maps can now share directions with other mobile device users, if they have the latest version of the app.

In version 9.3, Google Maps allows one to send directions, and include current traffic, satellite view, or terrain, PC World reported.

This can be a time and effort saver for people who have to give directions to a friend when meeting up, it said.

Such a method "beats retyping the address or trying to describe to someone key intersections or landmarks," it added.

"Once you hit send, you get Android’s excellent sharing menu which sends a link of the directions via whatever method you choose," it said.

Also, PC World said Maps allows a user to permanently get rid of an alert about optimizing a device’s location settings. — Joel Locsin/TJD, GMA News
