This hack lets Android Wear pair smoothly with your iPhone

So who says Google's Android Wear doesn't play well with Apple's iPhone?

A developer managed to get Android Wear to work with an iPhone, and without having to jailbreak the smartphone - and posted the YouTube video to prove it.

"Android Wear connected to iOS directly, using ANCS (same as what the Pebble uses). No jailbreak on iOS or root on the watch necessary," said developer Mohammad Abu-Garbeyyeh.

Enthusiast site Android Beat noted the YouTube video showed a notification for an incoming message on his iPhone 6 showing also on his Android-powered Moto 360.

The enthusiast site also noted the developer used APIs in ANSC, or Apple Notification Center Service, to get his Moto 360 to work with an iPhone.

"This is similar to how Pebble is able to get its watch to work with the iPhone," it said.

Yet, Android Police said it might not be advisable to get an iPhone to pair with an Android Wear device just yet, or vice versa.

"(B)ut this certainly is an interesting possibility of the open platform on which Wear is built," it said. — Joel Locsin/TJD, GMA News
