Gamers warned anew vs. malware in game demos
Gamers may have to think twice before following links to new game demos, lest they end up in a site containing malware that could mean "Game Over" for their computers or their online credits.
That warning has become even more relevant following the recent spoofing of a legitimate game on Steam.
Wow. Someone copied our Steam page to spread malware. Their virus demo contains 7 levels! Gotta step our game up http://t.co/LOJ19e5zFF

Makers of the game then asked their followers to help report the fake page.
Kotaku.com said the scammers made a "perfect copy" of their Steam page in Steam's website's "concepts" section.
The scammers' page had promised gamers a new demo with seven levels.
"Clicking the link, obviously, is a terrible idea. It goes to a malware-ridden download site," Kotaku's Nathan Grayson said.
It quoted game designer Firas Assaad as saying he reported the page and asked fans to report it as well.
"There were a few comments on the fake page warning people, but it seems that they were deleted. If it stays up I might send a DMCA complaint since companies take them more seriously," he said.
However, Kotaku quoted a message from Valve saying it has "removed the malicious links and taking further steps to deal with anyone involved with posting these links." — Joel Locsin/TJD, GMA News
