Moto 360 smartwatch to update OS to Android Wear 5.1.1

Android Wear 5.1.1 will be available to the Motorola Moto 360 smartwatch via over-the-air (OTA) updates starting Thursday, June 18, according to a post by Google’s Senior Developer Advocate Wayne Piekarski.

“OTA rollouts are always done over a period of many days, so it will take some time to receive your update,” Piekarski said in his post on Google+.

It was previously reported by tech website 9to5Google that OTA Android Wear updates for the Moto 360 were delayed compared to those by other smartwatch competitors. Motorola said that it was because they wanted to make sure there were no issues between the Moto 360 and the new software.
