Skype for business arrives early on Windows Phone but has no sync feature —report
First, the good news. Windows Phone users can now get the Skype for Business app ahead of their counterparts on Android and iOS.
The Skype for Business app, which replaced Lync on desktop PCs and the Web, will download automatically on Windows Phone 8.1 handsets, PC World reported.
It features about 100 new emoticons along with the Skype UI, the report said.
But now, the bad news. Microsoft's business customers subscribing to Office 365 should not expect conversation syncing, at least from this version of Skype for Business.
PC World said the phone may have limited space and Microsoft had to keep out extraneous conversations.
Thus, it said a new message that arrives on a phone may be answered "without other clients' grabbing the conversation."
Also, it said Microsoft encrypted conversation and voice mail history by default. — Joel Locsin/LBG, GMA News
