LEGO Dimensions opens a portal for the Ghostbusters
By MATTHEW ARCILLA

On August 5, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment (WB Interactive) revealed that Ghostbusters-themed LEGO figures and content will be coming to LEGO Dimensions, as well as a new game mode that offers open-world environments themed around every franchise in the game.
LEGO Dimensions is an upcoming toys-to-life game, in the mold of Disney Interactive's Disney Infinity, Activision's Skylanders and Nintendo's amiibo. WB Interactive is drawing from multiple IP owners such as Universal and Sony as well as from its parent company Warner Bros. to create a rich library of recognizable characters and worlds.

There will be a Ghostbusters level pack that includes Lego versions of Peter Venkman, equipped with proton pack, a figure scale Ecto-1, and an oversized ghost trap. Buying the level pack also entitles you to, surprise, new level in the game. No figure was given for the price of the level pack were, but it's safe to assume that it is in the neighborhood of $30, the same price as other previously announced level packs such as Back to the Future, Doctor Who and The Simpsons.
Other Ghostbuster-themed add ons include a pair of Ghostbusters "fun packs." The Slimer pack comes with Slimer and a Slime Shooter weapon, while the Stay Puft pack will include The Stay Puft Marshmallow Man and a Gozerian Terror Dog.
WB Interactive also announced the existence of open-world environments known as 'Adventure Worlds' in LEGO Dimensions, "where players will be able to explore, race, collect gold bricks, unlock secrets, and explore classic locations." These are available alongside the main campaign, which plays out like a more free form version of a typical Lego game.
There will be a world themed around every franchise included in the game, but you need to own a figure from that universe in order to access it, much like how Disney Infinity requires franchise-specific figures to unlock particular themed playsets.
LEGO Dimenions' starter pack is set for release on September 27th for Xbox One, PS4, Wii U, Xbox 360 and PS3, and will snag you the LEGO Gateway necessary to open 'Dimensions,; the LEGO Toy Pad and figures for Batman, Gandalf and The LEGO Movie's Wyldstyle. — TJD, GMA News
