Michael Bay confirmed to direct Transformers 5

Watch out people, The Autobots and Decepticons are coming back with more explosions, as director Michael Bay has confirmed that he’ll be returning for the fifth time to direct the next Transformers film.

Despite saying that 2014’s “Transformers: Age of Extinction” was his last time in the director’s chair for the movies, it seems that Bay can’t let go of the film franchise he helped kick off and start back in 2007 with the first live-action Transformers film. In an interview with Rolling Stone, the filmmaker responsible for the likes of “Bad Boys” and “Armageddon” confirmed he’s not down with the robots in disguise on the big screen:

It’s fun to do a movie that 100 million people will see. But this is the last one. I have to pass the reins to someone else.” I remind Bay that he said the same thing before each of the last two Transformers movies. “I know,” he says. “J.J. [Abrams] told me, ‘You’re the only guy that could do this.’ But it’s time to move on. One more.

And there you have it. Despite his attempts to leave the franchise out of his own volition, Michael Bay is going to direct Transformers 5 and attempt to make it his very last experience this time.  Film viewers who are used to his formula and ways will either prepare themselves for another “Bayformers” adventure with the robots in disguise, or a new flick that’s sure to be stacked with pretty ladies, lots of action, and tons of explosions. — TJD, GMA News
