Apps to help make commuting in Manila easier

Gearing up for the Christmas rush? GMA News' "Unang Balita" on Wednesday listed a few apps that might make driving or commuting easier for on-the-road citizens.

Wunder

For people who drive to work, want to share the space in their car, and split the cost of gas, there's Wunder, a carpooling app that connects people with cars with people who need a ride.

Wunder helps users search for people going in the direction they are headed to and allows them to schedule rides with them.

Wunder is available for free in both iOS and Android.

HERE WeGo and Sakay.ph

Sakay.ph has been on the market for a while, providing commuters with instructions on where to wait, what to ride, and which route to take.

Users only need to input their current location and destination and the app will calculate the route and the best mode of transportation to take.

The app HERE WeGo, however, has the additional feature of working offline.

Both apps are available for free in both iOS and Android.

Pocket

Getting stuck in a traffic jam for hours almost seems inevitable and the app Pocket helps people deal with that productively.

Pocket is a companion for people who want to save data.

While online, use the app to save articles for later reading.

Users can then read them later, offline, while inching their way through EDSA.
