Nioh getting DLC, PVP mode, new missions this April
Sleeper hit “Nioh,” one of the toughest games since its inspiration “Dark Souls,” isn’t finished giving players a very hard time, just yet. Publisher Koei Tecmo has just announced that a host of new “Nioh” content is headed our way.
First, “Nioh” will be updated with ten types of extremely difficult missions. Some of these will involve boss rushes. We can expect these free missions towards the end of March.
Then, in late April, a free PVP multiplayer mode will come to “Nioh.”
Lastly, “Nioh” will be getting its first paid DLC this April. Entitled “Dragon of Tohoku” or “Dragon of the North,” the DLC will come with new scenarios, stages, characters, guardian spirits, yokai, weapon types, and more. This will be followed by DLCs “Japan’s Best Warrior” and “Peaceful and Tranquil.” Owners of the $25 season pass will be able to avail of all three paid DLCs upon their launch.
The information was recently revealed in a Japanese livestream. The video of said stream is up on YouTube. Unfortunately, it has no English subtitles.
An exclusive for the PlayStation 4, action RPG “Nioh” was released on February 7 to critical acclaim. It is heavily inspired by the “Dark Souls” series. Set in war-torn Japan, “Nioh” uses historical events and characters, as well as elements of dark fantasy.
