#Facebookdown, #Instagramdown trend on Twitter


Netizens who experienced difficulty in accessing their Facebook and Instagram accounts on Thursday evening took to Twitter to express their sentiments with the hashtag #facebookdown and #Instagramdown.

The hashtag is currently trending in the Philippines with more than 11,000 tweets, as of posting time.

Instagram, through its Twitter account posted that the company is working to bring back services.

"We’re aware that some people are currently having trouble accessing Facebook’s family of apps, including Instagram. We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible. #InstagramDown."

 

 

Facebook, however, has not yet posted an update.

According to outage monitoring website DownDetector, about 8,000 Facebook users were affected in various parts of the world including the United States and Britain.

Several users reported issues like not being able to post pictures and videos on their main feeds and an error message saying "Facebook Will Be Back Soon" appeared on log in attempts.

Facebook could not immediately be reached for comment.

According to the 2018 Global Digital report, Filipinos are the most active social media users in the world.

In the report, it was shown that the most visited website of Pinoys was social networking site Facebook, followed by Google and YouTube.
